She was moved by the children coming to her home in the middle of the night without even a toothbrush, and perhaps carrying their meager belongings in a black trash bag. She and her family want to make a positive difference for children and youth being brought into the foster care system through this program. Safepacks provides backpacks filled with age appropriate items to children when they first enter foster care: -Pajamas -Socks -Toothbrush and Toothpaste -Shampoo and Conditioner -Soap and Body Wash -Deodorant -Lotion -Coloring Book & Crayons -Notebooks/Journals -School Supplies -Diapers -Baby Bottles -Pacifiers -Blanket -Toy (Book, Stuffed Animal, Etc.) |

Special thank you to Emily Aranda and Usborne Books & More for their fundraising efforts to give foster children and youth an opportunity to explore the world through books.

"Each day, many children enter the foster care system throughout the US. Oftentimes, children in foster care don’t have adequate emotional support, academic help and lack hope. The Children's Permanency Partnership works to create better outcomes for the children they serve through Epworth, Youth in Need, and Family Forward and will be joining forces with Usborne Books & More for a book drive this fall to make a difference in the lives of these kids and their families.
Our goal is to raise $1,000 in
donations, which will be matched at 50% by Usborne Books & More through the
Literacy for a Lifetime Matching Grant program. Every child deserves to
explore the world through books and with this fundraiser, we’re aiming to make
a lasting impact on children in foster care.
Not only will these books be a
wonderful gift for the children but your support is also an important way you
can positively effect change in our community. Your gift of
$33 will allow us to donate 5-10 books ($50 value) to the children served by
these St. Louis organizations. Will you help us bring joy to these children
by making a gift to this book drive?"
